A family business that shows up for the dig.
Mankato Landscapers is family-owned and operated, with over 15 years of landscaping experience in southern Minnesota.
We do things a little differently than bigger outfits: the person who creates your design is the person who installs your landscape. Tyler is onsite at most jobs, so the plan you agreed on is the yard you get.

How we work
We collaborate with you
We take the time to understand your goals before anything gets drawn, and keep you in the loop on options and pricing as the project moves.
Honest recommendations
We present all the options and never push you to spend money where it isn't needed. You get our best, honest estimate of cost and schedule.
Proud of the craftsmanship
We don't consider a project complete until you're happy with it.
Fully licensed and insured
From tree removals to excavation, the work is covered and done safely.
Big enough for the big jobs. Small enough to know your name.
We run our own skid loaders and excavators and keep over 800 trees growing in our field just outside town, so we can take on walls, shorelines and full yard rebuilds. We're still a small crew, and the same people you meet at the consult are the ones on site.
The crew dog usually comes along too.
What our customers say
Reviews from homeowners and contractors we've worked with.
“Tyler and his crew are the best in the business. Big enough to handle almost anything you could want. Small enough that the owner operator is going to be onsite at most jobs. If you are looking elsewhere for your landscaping needs, you are making a mistake.”
“When my wife and I faced a real world homeowner's nightmare - 2 basement floods in 2 years - one of our biggest stresses was how do we truly fix this root cause? Thankfully this stress was short lived after we found Tyler. Not only did he take the time to physically meet in person and walk the property to understand the needs first hand, but through this process he was able to offer exactly what we were after - common sense solutions. This - paired with his day one professionalism, clear and consistent communication, and perfect attention to detail gave us the one result you cannot put a price on - true peace of mind.”
“Tyler and his team did an excellent job with our tree and shrub trimmings and removals! Great communication and flexible. They got the job done in an afternoon and made everything look great. I would definitely recommend and will be having him back in spring to complete some larger grading and retaining wall projects!”
“Tyler was amazing to work with from the early design stages of redoing our patio and retaining wall to the completion of the project. He answered all of my questions and always presented options at various price points. His team was nothing but professional, and I couldn't be more pleased with their quality work. Highly recommend!”
“Tyler was great to work with! He discussed all the steps of the project with us and let us know what was happening. They worked around a challenging water table issue for the driveway and came up with a good solution that we all agreed upon. The driveway looks great and Tyler and his team were wonderful to work with!”
“Tyler literally did a little of everything for us: retaining walls, trees, plants, edging, rock. He and his guys did a great job with all of it. Super impressed with his knowledge and ideas - it was so easy to trust him and let him do what he recommended. He honestly brought our yard to life after putting off landscaping for years and we couldn't be happier!”
“I wanted to have a dry creek bed installed to alleviate a standing water and drainage issue in my yard. Tyler was very helpful and when I asked if something could be done he was very receptive and offered ideas based on his knowledge and experience to help solve the problem. Don't hesitate to call Tyler for your landscaping needs. You will be thrilled that you did.”
“Tyler contacted us with possible options to recover and improve the damage to our shoreline following seasonal heaving. He was able to repair all the damage and make improvement to help stabilize the base for future possible weather related issues. Repairs to the lawn after completion was done with care and perfection.”
